Proclamation Request

Where as our forefathers declared in 1776 "this truth" to be self-evident that all men were "created" equal. Making our nation's first bold steps of faith with "God and truth" to be front and center;

Where as these courageous men knowing the fatal consequences if they should fail, boldly signed their Declaration to become "One Nation under God," never to bow before another earthly king!

Where as, God did bless them accordingly, with astounding victories, and thoughtout our American history, by His sovereign will, did truly shed His amazing grace on us, and exalted us beyond measure.

Where as, today we see our nation rebelling against God and chasing every evil way, with fear, civil unrest, hatreds, and divisiveness tearing apart our nation like an evil scourge.

Where as, we who hold fast to God's truth, knowing He still rules and reigns in the affairs of all men and nations, feel led once again to make another valiant and faithful stand, to rally in His name!

Where as, in the face of this apostacy, a new declaration should be in order, not to men, not to kings, but to God! A declaration to return to Him with all our hearts, exalting Him to His rightful place! And we to ours as One nation under God.

Therefore, we sound out to everyone, to get down on their knees and make a "personal declaration" to lift up the name of Christ in this community like never before in the year of the Lord 2022;

Therefore, we humbly request that the Somerset Co. Board of Commissioners would declare by official proclamation Saturday August 6th to be JESUS DAY. A solemn and holy day officially declared to Honor Christ!

The Light Team

(A day officially consecrated and celebrated with prayer, song, and praise from every heart, home, and church in this community! To raise our voices together and pledge to give our best on this day and everyday to the God We Trust!

Seeking to invoke the provision of God's Spirit to: "revive the light in each one of us" and light-up God's County to become a bright and shining "city on a hill" that will shine upon the whole nation!)

Furthermore, we request that Jesus Day, be established in perpetuity to fall on the first Saturday of every August here in "God's County!" For he is worthy, and we all should be willing!

A letter from our founder

"A city sitting on a hill cannot be hid — but with darkness taking over so many churches, where is our light?" John Imhoff · Founding President

Johnstown was recently ranked among the nation's most "post-Christian" cities. It's a hard number to sit with, and a fair question to ask: how long before it's our city too?

As a member of the Day of Prayer and Child Evangelism Fellowship committees, I've seen what happens when even a few faithful people from different congregations unite around one cause. Paul Critchfield and I began talking about what it would look like to expand that further — to stop talking about the darkness and actually do something about it.

The Light Team was formed as that "something." It's a call to the faithful across every denomination in this community to come out from behind four walls and rally together, in plain sight, in Christ's name.

The only membership requirement is a simple pledge. Imagine what a thousand people, pledged and serving, could do for this community's light.

The sea of life, it roars today; troubled waters- stir and rage! Driving hard against my ship, it overflows, I start to list. And from the belly of my ship, I call to Christ with trembling lips, and plea for mercy from on high, to save my soul before I die! My cry was heard; my shaking stilled; a sense of hope within me filled! Lifting me from all despair; a flow of peace now filled the air. The Spirit blew, a gentle breeze, and filled my hull with liberty! And opened up my eyes to see, the storm was past and I was free. Free to dance and stomp my feet; to praise the Lord and celebrate! To hoist His name above my mast; and "overboard" my cursed past! Lord- take the helm, and fill that breeze; stretch out my sails-with Joy and peace; Lead me through this troubled sea! And set the course You have for me! Push and pull, and keep me straight; when I, the rudder, try to take! And on the course of "Hope" be stayed, 'til I'm ushered far away! To Your safe haven, far from sin; then cure this list; and take me in. Make me fit, make me shine; to sail your endless sea of time. With love and praises on my lips- for You who DIED to right my ship! Who canceled all those waves of sin- and towed my "sorry vessel" in!

His deity, virgin birth, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, and coming return.

Salvation

Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential for salvation.

Unity

Believers in Christ share one spiritual unity, across every congregation.

The Holy Spirit

His present ministry indwells the Christian, enabling a godly life.

Resurrection

Both the saved and the lost will be resurrected — one to life, one to judgment.
