The Light Team is gearing-up to provide assistance locally during this pandemic. Many are facing hardships, and God only knows how long this pandemic will last.
We encourage everyone to join us as the Spirit leads, your contributions and suggestions are encouraged.

The Waves of Mercy

The sea of life, it roars today; troubled waters- stir and rage! Driving hard against my ship, it overflows, I start to list. And from the belly of my ship, I call to Christ with trembling lips, and plea for mercy from on high, to save my soul before I die! My cry was heard; my shaking stilled; a sense of hope within me filled! Lifting me from all despair; a flow of peace now filled the air. The Spirit blew, a gentle breeze, and filled my hull with liberty! And opened up my eyes to see, the storm was past and I was free. Free to dance and stomp my feet; to praise the Lord and celebrate! To hoist His name above my mast; and “overboard” my cursed past! Lord- take the helm, and fill that breeze; stretch out my sails-with Joy and peace; Lead me through this troubled sea! And set the course You have for me! Push and pull, and keep me straight; when I, the rudder, try to take! And on the course of “Hope” be stayed, ‘til I’m ushered far away! To Your safe haven, far from sin; then cure this list; and take me in. Make me fit, make me shine; to sail your endless sea of time. With love and praises on my lips- for You who DIED to right my ship! Who canceled all those waves of sin- and towed my “sorry vessel” in!

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

The progression of darkness flooding our nation is surely taking its toll. With Johnstown now listed #45 on a list of “post” Christian cities. How long before it is our city? Jesus said “We are the light of the world, a city sitting on a hill cannot be hid” Matt 5:14. But with darkness and cobwebs taking over so many churches, it makes one wonder - where is our light? Is it hidden inside the walls of our struggling churches and can't get out? Is it under a bushel? Are we hiding it in our hearts so the “world” won't see it, or worse yet, are we ashamed of our light? . Inside our churches we talk, we pray, and we preach about it; but aren't we called to “do something” also? Business as usual isn't working. The darkness is snuffing us out one person at a time. As a member of the Day of Prayer and Child Evangelist Fellowship committees, I've been inspired by what God can do when only a few of His faithful from various denominations unite in a cause. Paul Critchfield and I (different congregations) discussed how we could expand on this team concept and “do something” about this evil progression! We prayed for direction! And we were moved to form a team and cry out to all the faithful in this community to join ranks; to come out from the four walls and rally as “one” against this rampant complacency, on a local front! Christ is calling for us to wake up, unite, and “light up this hill” in His name. With joy in our hearts, and His praises on our lips; (heard and seen by everyone) as we serve our Lord and magnify his name. Would you like to join, and support this team ministry? The only membership requirement is a pledge, (see membership page) Imagine how much more light we could send if we had a team of a thousand members who pledged to serve the Lord in word and deed, by doing something more! Can you see that light?
